Rules:

It is each fi shing contestant’s responsibility to read and fully understand all rules of the tournament, the State of Kansas and any special law pertaining to Hillsdale Lake, or this tournament. Any violation of these rules will subject the contestants to disqualifi cation, for non-compliance and forfeit of all prizes and entry fees. The “Catch for a Cause” committee has the right to refuse any entry.

Participants:

There is no age limit in this tournament. No more than two participants in a boat at one time, except if a team is not of suffi cient age to operate a boat legally, then they must be chaperoned by an adult. The chaperone may not fi sh during tournament hours.

Protests:

All protests must be submitted in writing no later than 30 minutes after the offi cial check-in time. The tournament director will make all protest decisions. All decisions by the director are fi nal and not subject to any grievance or legal procedures.

Tackle Equipment and Trolling:

All materials and allowable fi shing technology according to Kansas laws and regulations are allowed. Fish must be caught and reeled in from a boat. All participants are solely responsible for their own actions, including de-termination due to inclement weather.

Hours:

Tournament hours will be as follows:
Flight #1 (Boats 1-50)
start at 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Flight #2 (Boats 51-100)
start at 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m .


The tournament ramp will be: State Park Ramp – Hillsdale Lake (Next to Jayhawk Marina) All boats must be inside the no wake buoys by the end of your fl ight time. Boats not inside of the no wake buoys by the end of your fl ight time will be disqualified. Fish check-in will be at Jayhawk Marina. Your total points will be calculated at that time. After check in at the marina, you can then load your boat.

Starting Order:

The starting order will be determined by either the postmark date of the application, or the order in which you sign up via phone registration.

Exception:

Boat entries by event financial sponsors will be granted first start positions. All applications and complete payment must either be mailed to the address below or provided via phone to 913-422-5300:

Tournament Headquarters:

Shelter House south of Jayhawk Marina – Shelter # 2

Pre-Tournament Practice:

Hillsdale Lake will be off limits starting at 4:00 p.m. on June 1, 2011 and will remain closed until the tournament begins. Anchored boats will be given a 30'clearance on all sides by other contestants, unless performing emergency assistance.

Sportsmanship:

Any contestant displaying poor sportsmanship, breaking local, state or tournament rules will be subject to disqualifi cation.

Live Wells:

Live Wells are not required in this tournament, but encouraged. Catch and release is also encouraged, but not mandatory.

Kill Switch:

All boats operating in this tournament must have a properly working kill switch. The kill switch must be attached to the boat operator when the main motor is operational.

Life Jackets:

Coast Guard approved life jackets must be worn when the boats’ big engine is running. If you are of the age of 16 or younger, than jackets must be worn at all times as regulated by state law.

Alcohol:

All participants are prohibited from consuming or using alcohol prior to or during tournament hours. All boats will be checked for alcohol and fi sh prior to take off.

Allowable Fish and Limits:

Allowable tournament fi sh are: Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Catfi sh, Crappie and White Bass all scored and weighed according to the following matrix (see below). Each team presenting fi sh for scoring or weighing must have caught the fi sh being scored or weighed. No frozen or iced fi sh will be allowed. Any fi sh brought in will disqualify the team from the tournament. K.D.W.P. law enforcement offi cers may be at the tournament and team or participants can be subject to penalties for state violations.

Check-In Procedures:

Checkin Saturday, June 2, at 6:00 a.m.,
Start time for first boat takeoff is 7:00 a.m.
Check boats in at the inspection station (small shelter located near entrance to Jayhawk Marina). Your start number will be issued at checkin. Corporate event sponsor boats will be first, remainder will takeoff in order of team’s entry and payment of registration fees to KBS Constructors Foundation. Every team must check in prior to takeoff.

In case of a boat failure, a team member may transport his/her catch back in another boat, but at least one (1) member must stay with the fish being transferred at all times. Late returns are automatically disqualified unless it is determined by the tournament committee that the boat was delayed for just reasons.

Ties:

All ties will be broken by a flip of a coin by the tounament director. Boat with lowest start number calls the flip.

All decisions by the tournament committee are final.
